Architect Anthony Salvin’s early architectural sketches for one of three huge 4-post beds, designed to complement the Manor House. As well as designing the Scotney new Manor House itself, Salvin also designed much of the furniture and furnishing for the house. Was this usual practice for architects of the early 1800s? Or a special request from an estate owner with an obsessive fixation on small details?
